Is professional installation available?

Yes. We have our own network of auto-electricians and installation sites in Malta. OBD devices you can plug in yourself; hardwired installs, CAN bus, immobilisation, RFID and iButton driver ID are all fitted by our installers.

What reports can I generate?

Trip history, mileage reports (for fuel tax claims), driver behavior scores, speeding reports, idle time, and custom reports. Export to PDF or Excel.

Is there an API for integration?

Yes. Our REST API allows integration with ERP, accounting, dispatch, and other business systems. Popular integrations include Sage and QuickBooks.

How long has Yipii been operating?

Since 2010. The company traded as Dazzle Panel Limited and its tracking service was known as DP:Tracking and Tracking.com.mt. It was renamed to Yipii Ltd in June 2025. Yipii is an established Maltese telematics provider, not a new company.

Is Yipii the same company as Dazzle Panel and DP:Tracking?

Yes. Dazzle Panel, DP:Tracking and Tracking.com.mt are all earlier names for the same Malta business that now trades as Yipii. Existing accounts, devices and historical data carried over unchanged.

Does Yipii offer hardwired GPS trackers, or only OBD plug-in devices?

Both. Yipii offers OBD plug-and-play, cigarette lighter plug-in for Y-plates and rentals, hardwired professional installation, and battery-powered asset trackers. Hardwired fitting is carried out by Yipii's own network of auto-electricians and installation sites in Malta. Hardwired installs support CAN bus, immobilisation, RFID and iButton driver ID, and concealed fitment.

Is Yipii only for small fleets and SMEs?

No. Yipii serves single private vehicles, small fleets of 1 to 10, mid-size and large fleets, consortiums, groups of companies, and enterprise operations across multiple sites and entities. The same platform scales across all of them.

Does Yipii support video telematics, fuel monitoring and temperature tracing?

Yes, all three. Video telematics and dashcam, fuel monitoring, and temperature monitoring for cold chain are part of the platform, alongside CAN bus engine data and driver behaviour monitoring.

Can Yipii immobilise or cut off a vehicle engine remotely?

Yes, on hardwired installations. Immobilisation and engine cut-off need a wired connection to the vehicle, so they are fitted by our auto-electricians rather than available on a plug-in OBD device.

Which GPS tracking hardware does Yipii use?

Yipii supplies and supports devices from Teltonika, Ruptela, Digital Matter and Queclink, matched to the application. Multi-network global SIMs auto-switch between providers for coverage across Malta and Gozo.

Can parents track a school transport vehicle?

Yes. Yipii supports public link sharing, which gives parents live visibility of a vehicle through a shared link with no account and no app install. The link can be limited to a route and a time window.

Battery-powered asset trackers

A battery tracker carries its own power and reports on a schedule rather than continuously, because reporting interval and battery life trade directly against each other. This suits trailers, generators, containers and plant that sits on a site for weeks between moves.

BLE sensors

Bluetooth sensors report to a nearby tracker, which forwards the readings over the mobile network. A sensor measures temperature and humidity; others report door state or light. Several can report from one vehicle, which is what multi-compartment bodies need.

BLE tags for equipment

A tag is a passive marker rather than a tracker. It is detected when a tracked vehicle or gateway passes within range, and its position is reported as that of the detecting device. Coverage therefore depends on traffic past the item, which makes tags suitable for tools in a yard and unsuitable for continuous monitoring.

Vehicle bus integration

A hardwired install can connect to the vehicle data bus directly rather than through the diagnostic port. This widens the available parameter set to include fault codes, fuel, coolant and oil temperature, and on plant it exposes engine hours, which is the meaningful utilisation measure for machines that idle more than they travel.
